Thank you to all of you who supported us during the holiday season. Some of you we only see once a year, and it's always nice to reconnect. For some of you it was your 7th season giving fair trade, local and eco items from Small Planet. We hope your loved ones enjoy the extra care you take in your giving.
Even in the midst of our 5th year of being open year round, December sales do not allow us to hibernate through the winter months. So we restock and take stock and invite you to journey with us as we find the creative strength to keep Small Planet Trading in Hood River for you.
January may be cold, but it will still be sunny, warm and inviting in the shop with us. Stop by to restock on your favorite "must have's"-- like Biobags, a new toothbrush, wonderful soaps, plus chocolate, tea and hot cocoa.
New in the shop for the New Year-- a long awaited shipment from The Tibet Collection--
Ring in the year with tingshas and singing bowls. Also we've got our favorite Nag Champa incense, holders, and small handmade paper prayer flags. New for 2010, Green Tara flags.
And for your eating pleasure-- New items from Canaan Fair Trade.
Hand rolled couscous and Za'atar (see information below) These Fair Trade products support women-owned cooperatives in Palestine-- and they are so yummy!

Za'atar
Za’atar is made from thyme which is found throughout the hills of Palestine. Za'atar
represents the daily Palestinian breakfast – served with freshly
baked bread and olive oil it is the vegemite of Palestine.
Canaan's Za'atar is cultivated by Canaan's olive growers and
prepared by women-owned cooperatives with roasted organic
local sesame seeds and sumac, a favorite Palestinian spice.
Za'atar is a versatile blend of natural spice that can be used on
meats, vegetables and breads. (information from Fair Trade Palestine)
