WordPress Posts and Pages

99% of your time will be spent updating or adding Posts and Pages.  Here’s the difference:

Posts Pages
Summary appears blog (list) style on a page with a link to the full Post. Just a page of content.
Are less relevant over time. Remain relevant forever.
Examples:  announcements, new products, new services, tutorials, and so on. Examples:  Contact Us, About Us, and so on.
It’s a really good idea to Categorize your Posts and then add the categories to a menu somewhere.  That makes it really easy for people to find your Posts. No Categories.
Examples:  announcements, new products, new services, tutorials, and so on. Examples:  Contact Us, About Us, and so on.
https://hammock.net/category/wordpress/ is an example of what’s called a Post Feed or a Post Archive.  It’s more like a blog format.  In this case, it’s a collection of articles. https://hammock.net/contact-us/ is an example of a Page.  IT’s not really related to any other pages or part of any collection.
